FlexFit Austin – Cross-Platform Fitness Tracking App
Cross-platform iOS and Android fitness tracking app for a premium Austin gym chain featuring workout planning, nutrition logging, class booking, and trainer chat — driving 41% higher member retention.
Client
FlexFit Gym, Austin, TX
Project Overview
FlexFit, a premium gym chain with 4 Austin locations, needed a branded mobile app to deepen member engagement, reduce churn, and compete with boutique studios offering digital-first fitness experiences.
The Challenge
Without a mobile touchpoint between gym visits, FlexFit had no way to keep members engaged remotely. This was driving a 32% annual churn rate as members canceled in favour of digital-first competitors like Peloton.
Our Solution
We developed a full-featured fitness companion app for iOS and Android with deep gym integration:
- Customizable workout plans with exercise video library and progress tracking
- Nutrition logging with barcode food scanner and macro/calorie dashboards
- Real-time class booking with waitlist management and push notification reminders
- In-app trainer messaging, form check video submissions, and coaching notes
- Integration with Apple HealthKit and Google Fit for unified health data
Key Results
- Member retention rate improved by 41% in the 6 months following app launch
- App accumulated 12,000+ active downloads within the first 3 months
- Class utilization across all 4 locations increased by 35%
- Net Promoter Score (NPS) rose to 72 from a pre-launch baseline of 44
